Pallbearers were Walter Brooks, Ellis Stevens, Curtis Fellows, Robert
Holloway, Marvette Lewis and Thomas Brooks.
Mrs. Brooks died at 12.04 p.m., in Arlington City Hospital following
a brief Illness. She had been in declining health for a number of
years.
Mrs. Brooks was born at Edison on Sept. 19, 1895, and she was the
daughter of the late Marion and Alice Lewis Holloway. She had resided in
Edison all of her life and was a member of the Salem Baptist Church.
Mrs. Brooks is survived by her husband, J. R. (Jim) Brooks, Sr. of
Edison; three sons Albert Brooks and J. R. Brooks, Jr., both of Edison,
and Gordon Brooks of Jacksonville, Fla.; two daughters, Mrs. Frank
Chambers of Columbus and Mr. June Settles of Warner Robins; two sisters,
Mrs. Roy Fellows and Mrs. George Stevens, both of Edison; 12
grand-children and three great grand-children; and a half sister, Mrs.
Earl Horn of Daytona Beach, Fla.
