My daddy worked at Goldhead Branch State Park and I'm not quite sure what brought my mom to Keystone 4.Were there other family members in the area? Who?
My grandparents and Uncle Bobby in Jacksonville, FL 5.What was the house (apartment, farm, etc.) like?
I lived on the Park for the first 6-8 months of my life. From what I've been told and what I saw later it was a two bedroom, dark brown house on a lake with a fireplace. The second house was a rental and all I remember is that there was a green coach. The third house was 1353 Chautaugua Way, where I have a million memories. Pre-fire it was a three bedroom ranch with one bathroom. Post-fire it was a 4 1/2 bedroom, three-story
split level, 3 bathroom house. 7. What is your earliest childhood memory?
Laying in my bed (pre-fire) while I was supposed to be taking a nap but putting star stickers on my new star wall paper. Also, getting out of my bed to go sleep with Beth, my "Sister" (pronounced with a lisp).
8. Describe the personalities of your family members. Uhm, I don't quite have time to write a novel so I'll have to condense this... 9.What kind of games did you play growing up?
Beth and I would play the "movie game" while we were supposed to be sleeping. One of us would say the line of a movie and the other would have to guess which movie it was from.
10. What was your favorite toy and why? With out a doubt, "Teddy". I got him for my fourth birthday from my Uncle Bobby. Teddy has been through a few trips through the washing machine, two surgeries, a move to GA, a move to London, a few break-ups, many absorbed tears and knows all my lives trials and joys. He still takes his place under my left arm every night that I stay at home.
11.What was your favorite thing to do for fun (movies, beach, etc.)?
Have everyone come down from Jacksonville and go skiing and swimming at the lake and have cookouts. 12.Did you have family chores? What were they? Which was your least favorite?
Ha ha, no chores for any child of Gail's!
13.Did you receive an allowance? How much? Did you save your money or spend it? That's a double Ha Ha! I did baby-sit and tried to save a little here and there.
K-2 grades were fun I guess. I was not wild about 3-6 but high school was great. What were your best and worst subjects?
SPELLING was by far my worst and most hated subject. Where did you attend grade school?
Keystone Heights Elementary School High school? Keystone Heights School (7-9) and
(Atlanta) McIntosh High School (9-12) College? Georgia State University
15.What school activities and sports did you participate in?
I played softball, basketball, and swimming. I FBLA (president), Key Club (secretary), and the Environmental Club.
16.Do you remember any fads from your youth? Popular hairstyles? Clothes?
18. What were your favorite songs and music? Anything my sister listen to. Madonna, New Kids on the Block, MC Hammer, I could go on an on...
19.Did you have any pets? If so, what kind and what were their names?
Our cat, Molly.
21.Were you ever mentioned in a newspaper?
Yes, when I got to let hundreds of turtles goes at Little Talbot Island.
Kali Sirmopolous, I can't remember any huge events that effected us. The Gulf war, but I was only in the 6th grade so I don't remember that much. A space shuttle exploded as well but I don't remember the details. When I was 22 the Twin Towers in NYC were hit by
terrorist and crumpled to the ground, that was an event that effected everyone, and still
does.
24.Describe a typical family dinner. Johnny's BBQ
There's so much technology and things seem to move SO fast.

28.What do you know about your family surname?
Supposedly it is comes from Vikings who settled in Ireland and then moved to Florida. It's thought that it was Forhand in the beginning but then an "e" was added. At one time the Forehand's were the biggest sheep herder's in FL.
29.Is there a naming tradition in your family, such as always giving the firstborn son the name of his paternal grandfather?
Not that I know of.
33.Are there any physical characteristics that run in your family?
The Brooks foot.
34.Are there any physical characteristics that run in your family?
No I worked at a Public Relations firm for three years during college. Currently I work at a printing firm called Tri-C. I'm not quite sure how I ended up here. I still do have a choice, I love Public relations and event planning and will find a job to fit those two things. From my father: work hard, save money and be honest. From my mother: live life to the fullest and always try new things.
49.What accomplishments were you the most proud of?
Where I am right now in my life. I've bought my own Ford, pay my own rent in my townhouse, have my own job and have a wonderful support group of friends and family. |
