Mr. James Robert (Jim) Brooks, Sr., 81, of Edison died last night in his home after a short illness. Funeral services in Salem Baptist Church near Edison will be conducted by the Reverend J. C. Bradshaw, pastor, and the Rev. G. L. Brooks, retired Baptist minister at a time to be announced by Manry-Mintor Funeral Home of Blakely. Burial will be in the church cemetery. A lifelong resident of Calhoun County, Mr. Brooks was a retired service station operator and carpenter. He operated a station in Edison for 25 years. Survivors include three sons, Albert and James Robert Brooks, Jr. both of Edison and Gordon Brooks of Jacksonville, Fla.; two daughters, Mrs. Frank Chambers of Columbus, Ga., and Mrs. June Settles, Warner Robins, Ga.; two sisters, Mrs. Annie Averitt, Blakely, and Mrs. Bartow Holloway of Shellman, Ga. and 12 grandchildren.

Edison who died Saturday in an Arlington hospital was held at the Salem
Baptist Church with the Revs. J. C. Bradshaw and G. L. Brooks officiating Burial was in the church cemetery with the Manry-Mintor Funeral Home
directing.
Saviors include three sons, Albert and J. R. Brooks, Jr. Edison; Gordon
Brooks, Jacksonville, Fla.; two daughters, Mrs. Frank Chambers, Columbus,
Ga. and Mrs. June Settles of Warner Robins, Ga.; two sisters, Mrs. Annie
Averitt of Blakely, Ga. and Mrs. Bartow Holloway of Shellman; and 12
