MR. F. M. BROOKS
DEAD
The sudden death of Mr.
Francis M. Brooks of the Enterprise community, which occurred
Wednesday morning, was the cause of much grief by his relatives and
friends. He had been in poor health for several years but was able
to be up most of the time, and was overtaken by his last illness
while out about the farm that morning.
He went to the
house and took to his bed, stating that he felt fatigued and thought
he would feel better soon. But in a few minutes his son, who had
just left him, came in and found him in a dying condition from an
attack of heart failure.
Mr. Brooks was about 75 years
of age and is survived by one son, Mr. Ike Brooks and one brother,
Mr. Thomas N. Brooks, both living in the same community. He was a
good citizen, a splendid neighbor, and a true christen, being a
member of the Primitive Baptist church.
The remains were
carried to Mars Hill church Thursday morning where the funeral
service were held, after which the body was laid to rest in the
cemetery there beside that of his wife who had preceded him to the
grave several years ago.
The bereaved ones have the heart
felt sympathy of a large number of friends.
