Funeral services for Albert Lee Brooks, 60,
were held Wednesday, Feb.21, 1973 at 11 am in the Salem Baptist Church.
The pastor, Rev. C.D. Justice officiated. Interment was in Salem Cemetery
with Manry-Jordan Funeral Home of Blakely in charge of arrangements.
Pallbearers were Marvette Lewis, Curtis Fellows, Robert Settles, Joe
Chambers, Jimmy Chambers and Jack Brooks.
Mr. Brooks died Monday, Feb. 19 at 5:10 in Patterson Hospital,
Cuthbert, following a lengthy illness.
Mr. Brooks was born in Edison on Aug. 21, 1912. He was the
son of the late James Robert Brooks and Lonie Holloway Brooks. He
had resided here all his life and was a retired parts manager and salesman
for Duke Motors. He was a member of Salem Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Annie Lou Lindsey Brooks of
Edison; two daughters, Mrs. Ed Rowland of Macon and Mrs. Tommy Reeves of
Albany; two brothers, JR Brooks, Jr. of Edison and Gordon Brooks of
Jacksonville,
Fla.; two sisters, Mrs.
Frank Chambers of Columbus and Mrs. June Settles of
Warner Robins; and two grandsons, Eddie and Richie Rowland of
Macon.
